Taeyang's Comeback Confirmed By YG After G-Dragon's Solo Release
YG Entertainment has confirmed that BIG BANG's Taeyang will be releasing his solo album after G-Dragon released his "Act III: MOTTE" this month. YG boss Yang Hyun Suk made the official announcement on his Instagram account.
According to Soompi, Yang Hyun Suk confirmed the release of G-Dragon's solo album "Kwon Ji Yong" on June 8. He also confirmed that Taeyang will be releasing his own solo album right after G-Dragon. He didn't specify, however, when the album will come out.
YG has earlier confirmed that both BIG BANG members were working on their solo albums after T.O.P. officially enlisted to fulfill his two-year mandatory service in the military. Daesung has already released his Japanese mini album "D-Day" last April to great success and concluded his solo Japan Dome Tour on the same month.
Meanwhile, G-Dragon is set to kick off his 19-city "Act III: MOTTE" World Tour starting June 10 at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, selling out the venue which seats 65,000 people in just eight minutes. Taeyang, for his part is also set to embark on "SOL Japan Stadium Tour" on August 5 and 6.
Taeyang will hold his solo concerts on two of the biggest venues in Japan. The first concert will be held at the 30,000-seater Hotto More Field in Kobe while the second performance will be at the 35,000-seater ZOZO Marine Stadium in Chiba, Kpopstarz reported.
Prior to the launch of their solo albums, both G-Dragon and Taeyang collaborated with PSY on tracks for his comeback album "4 x 2 = 8." G-Dragon, who is currently filming for the music videos for his album, worked with PSY on the track "Fact Assault." Taeyang received a lot of positive reviews for his work on the track "Love" where he was praised by fans for his excellent vocals. Seungri is also reportedly working on his own solo album.
