Gong Yoo To Do Nude Scene In His Next Film?
Gong Yoo is willing to go naked for his next role if it's for the right project. This was confirmed by the "Goblin" actor himself in a recent press conference.
While it remains to be seen what the "Train to Busan" and "Goblin" star has lined up for his much-anticipated comeback, fans were both shocked and happy to know that Gong Yoo is open to baring some skin if the right role calls for it. In a report by Star2, the South Korean actor said that he is not setting limitations to his craft and could follow the footsteps of renowned Hong Kong superstars Tony Leung who went daring in Ang Lee's "Lust, Caution."
"I really respect Tony Leung as an actor. His performance was really bold. He was really brave," Gong Yoo said about taking on a daring role. "For the good of the film, it is important for an actor to respect the script. If it is necessary for the script, I'm OK with showing off my body."
Fans believe that after the highly successful run of "Goblin" which broke tVN ratings records as well as set new records for video on demand subscriptions, Gong Yoo will be assessing the offers and work on a movie instead. The actor or his management have not yet announced his next project as Gong Yoo focused on touring the world for a series of fan meetings. During these fan meetings, Gong Yoo got in touch with his fans to thank them for their support for his successful career.
Gong Yoo was recently featured in no less than CNN's "Talk Asia" which features Asia's top influencers in the field of entertainment, arts, business and other industries. During the interview, Gong Yoo talked about choosing his roles and how he uses his craft to bring attention to social issues.
The "Train to Busan" actor said that as with his role in the film "Silence" which brought attention to a controversial case of sexual abuse against children, he wanted to be an actor who uses his influence and celebrity to promote action. The film tackled the case of sexual abuse of eight children in a school for the hearing impaired and resulted in the passage of the "Dogani Law" which imposes stricter penalties against sexual offenders.
