Seo In Guk and VIXX Selected As Ambassadors of Hallyu
Actor Seo In Guk and boy group VIXX have been selected as representatives of Hallyu this year at the 2014 Korea Brand Entertainment Expo (KBEE), which was held at Seocho's International Conference Hall on July 21.
Seo and the boys of VIXX have now officially become the new face of Korea and Brazil's culture, economics and IT communication.
The 5th KBEE ceremony will be held in San Paulo, Brazil from August 13 to 15 at the WTC Exhibition to promote the Hallyu culture in Central and South America, according Allkpop.
Seo In Guk has been getting quite a bit of media attention as of late with his role on the drama "High School King" while VIXX has remained successful through their various singles and wins on various music programs.
"Seo In Guk is an entertainer who has been accepted in various areas such as music and acting. VIXX is a talented group that will lead the next generation of K-pop through their flashy choreography and addicting music, so we decided to choose them as ambassadors," explained KOTRA.
The organization added, "We're looking forward to them being the bridge that increases the flow of culture between Korea and Brazil."
Seo In Guk's career has been skyrocketing with his role as a high school student in his new tvN drama. The actor's contribution to the drama's soundtrack, titled "The Way Back," was released yesterday, according to Yahoo Entertainment Singapore.
The actor will also be appearing a music video for the song, which will reportedly show him singing in a recording booth.
Seo, who stars as high school ice hockey star Min-Seok, sat down with MSN Entertainment XIN and explained the complexity of his character, who is forced to join a circle of high-ranking executives by impersonating his brother.
"When I first read the script, I couldn't figure out the exact intention behind the character. However, now, I think that showing viewers Min-seok's way of handling embarrassing or uncomfortable moments at work - which is not being afraid to face problems directly without giving excuses - was his purpose," explained Seo.
