‘The Hobbit: Battle Of Five Armies’ Releases Intriguing New Stills; Cast Sir Ian McKellen Gets Busy Filming ‘Mr. Holmes’ Movie

"The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies" releases intriguing new stills on its official Twitter account ahead of the San Diego Comic Con. Meanwhile, cast Sir Ian McKellen is busy filming his newest movie, "Mr. Holmes."

According to Business Insider, "The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies" cast and crew, along with Warner Bros. Executives will be holding court this Saturday during the San Deigo Comic Con in California. The event will also feature a preview trailer of the film for the attendees.

Ahead of the event, however, "The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies" released through their Twitter account two new stills. The first image showed Luke Evan's Bard the Bowman talking to Legolas, played by Orlando Bloom.

The second "The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies" released still photo showed Bard the Bowman and Gandalf, played by Sir Ian McKellen, preparing for battle and looking up at something. The website said that they could be looking at the angry dragon, Smaug.

Speaking of "The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies" cast Sir Ian McKellen, the 75-year-old British actor is busy filming "Mr. Holmes," a new movie about the famous detective Sherlock Holmes.

The photos published on MailOnline showed "The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies" cast Sir Ian McKellen wearing a period three-piece suit and sipping coffee while an assistant makes sure to shield him from the sun using an umbrella.

"Mr. Holmes" is based on the book "A Slight Trick of the Mind" authored by Mitch Cullin. The story is about the genius detective, now 93 years old, and living in post-war Britain in 1997. He lives in isolation in a Sussex farmhouse but accompanied only by a housekeeper, played by Laura Linney.

The housekeeper has a son, who also wants to become a detective. With his memories quickly fading, "The Hobbit: Battle Of Five Armies" cast Sir Ian McKellen's character Sherlock Holmes will try to solve a previous case that remained unsolved, and the circumstances of which constantly nags him.
