The latest Derrick Rose news is that the 25-year-old NBA star is now undergoing training camp in Las Vegas. Successful participants in this camp will be chosen to represent the US in the upcoming FIBA World Championships in Spain in August. 

In an interview with Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau who will be assistant to head coach Mike Krzyzewski for the USA Team, he said that Rose needs to be in the 12-man team in order to prepare him for the upcoming NBA season. 

Having played in only 50 games in the last three seasons is definitely not good for the youngest MVP ever. 

"When you go back to his MVP year, he played with Team USA that summer (2010), and that prepared him very well for the season. He hasn't played in a long time, so it's a good opportunity to get that out of the way", says Thibs in an interview with the Chicago Tribune. 

Thibodeau also highlighted that Rose being a part of the USA team that won gold for the US in 2010 prepared him for his stellar MVP season with Chicago, where then 23-year-old D-Rose averaged 25 points, dished out 7 assists and grabbed 4 boards a game.

But when he does return to play in Chicago, Rose will not be alone in the offensive end. Spanish frontman Pau Gasol is a secondary option, while Euro Star Nikola Mirotic and rookie Doug McDermott, who is a part of the Select team that will practice against Team USA, will spread the floor with their outside prowess. 

Joakim Noah has also grown so much as a player during Rose's absence, being the defensive anchor that he is during the past two seasons. He will surely bring more of his defensive intensity this coming NBA season as a follow-up to his first ever NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award. 

The future certainly looks bring for the Bulls, considering Rose continues to stay healthy. They might just make it to the Conference Finals facing either the Cavs or the Heat.
