Park Bom Compared To Sewol Owner Yoo Byung Eon As 2NE1 Singer Departs 'Roommate'

As Park Bom makes headlines with another major turn of events on "Roommate," certain critics have gone as far as to compare the singer to the owner of the Sewol ferry, Yoo Byung Eon.

Recently, it's been confirmed that Park Bom will take an "indefinite hiatus" on the reality series "Roommate," as the filmed footage prior to the controversy has nearly run out.

"It seems the upcoming July 27th broadcast will be Park Bom's final [appearance on 'Roommate']," said producer Baek Jung Ryul to TV Report. "She hasn't been attending filming so there is no footage of her. Realistically speaking, it is as if she's left [the show]. We haven't made any plans for Park Bom's possible following appearances. Nothing has been discussed. We also edited out a lot of the footage of Park Bom due to the controversy."

"It's true Bom hasn't been participating in the filming since the 11th," added producer Park Sang Hyuk. "Due to this, she won't be in the broadcasts starting next week. She couldn't film because of schedules, so we can't ultimately label this as her leaving. We have footage that has been recorded before, so Bom will be appearing in a portion of this week's episode."

Although currently no legal action has been deemed suited for Park Bom, this recent news has caused another surge in negative comments for the 2NE1 singer on publications like Star News.

"I'm jealous," commented an observer according to blockbee on allkpop. "She gets off scot free even after doing drugs because she's under a rich company with lots of networks. Meanwhile Yoo Byung Eon's death is turning into a drama production by the country. Shows that money solves everything in Korea."

"Yoo Byung Eon and Park Bom need to stand before the law and pay the price for their crimes," said another on July 24.
