Shia LaBeouf Appears In New York Court After ‘Cabaret’ Arrest: Actor Was Escorted From Broadway Show, Alleged To Have Spat At Police Officers

Shia LaBeouf appeared in court yesterday (July 24) over charges relating to his arrest back in June in New York City.

The 28-year-old actor was arrested for disorderly conduct, criminal trespass and harassment at a production of the Broadway show "Cabaret". It is alleged Shia disrupted the show mid-performance, and he has "been accused of berating and spitting at police officers who were removing him from the theater", said CNN.

Shia LaBeouf's attorney and the New York Assistant District Attorney both requested an adjournment from the court, allowing them to work towards a "possible resolution" to the charges pressed against the troubled actor.

It is said that Shia LaBeouf arrived 30 minutes early to court, and he did not address any questions from the media after the appearance.

Reports emerged recently that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had in fact offered Shia LaBeouf help in his recovery, with the power couple concerned for his welfare. A source speaking to the Independent said that rumors of Shia's erratic behaviour on the set of "Fury" led Brad to wonder if the 28-year-old actor's actions were "symptomatic of a deeper issue".

"Brad [Pitt] and Angelina [Jolie] admire anyone who works to turn their life around, so they wanted to offer Shia a helping hand,"  the  website said, quoting their inside source. "They understand how hard it can be to kick demons."

Shia LaBeouf has had a string of incidents arising from his bad behaviour, apart from the NYC arrest - TMZ noted the star picked a fight outside a strip club and was banned from an LA restaurant after urinating on it.

This week Shia was spotted out and about in Los Angeles with his girlfriend Mia Goth for the first time since June. The pair were buying groceries at a store in Hollywood.
