‘Interstellar’ Movie: Christopher Nolan Marks Comic Con Debut For Space Epic! Oscar Best Actor Matthew McConaughey Storms The Convention!

The "Interstellar" movie already achieved what the three Batman films did not: Bring director Christopher Nolan to Comic Con. It also brought Academy Award Best Actor Matthew McConaughey.

Christopher Nolan was curious, and that says a lot for the visionary director:

From Variety:

"Thought it would be a fun thing to come down and see what all the fuss is about."

Paramount has classified this project as top secret, just like much of Nolan's work. But this time, they want to accommodate the fans who are still clueless about the movie. At this day and age, a few revelations and spoilers actually help a film more than it hurts.

Christopher Nolan shares the inspiration behind the movie:

"To be an astronaut was the highest ambition. The idea to keep exploring space farther and farther... it (fell) off greatly. We are in a period of incredible technological change, (but it's about) what's in your pocket, your living room. I like the idea that we are on the cusp of a brand new era and we are traveling outwards more."

The "Inception" director wanted the perfect actor to be the lead star in the movie. He already had his eyes set on Matthew McConaughey when he saw his performance in the movie, "Mud." He talked for three hours with the actor in his living room, no talks about the movie yet, just a discussion.

The Dallas Buyers Club lead was drawn in: "I was like, what the hell was that about. A week later, the script came out, I read it and I liked it quite a lot and I was in."

On his character:  "Cooper is a pilot, an engineer, and a widowed pilot of two children where civilization is just sustaining. There's food, clean water, but they don't need any explorers, no new bright ideas. Then something happens and the dream of being a pilot again knocks on his door."

That knock turns out to be "the greatest mission" he's ever taken on.

And "Interstellar" might turn out to be the greatest movie of the year. On November 7, we take the journey with the best cast and crew assembled in 2014.
