'Shadow Warriors' Release Date Announced For Xbox One And PS4: Devolver Digital Shows New Features And Specs From PC Version [PHOTO]

Devolver Digital recently narrowed the release date for "Shadow Warrior" on the next gen consoles generation to late September. Today the developer, in cooperation with Bandai Namco games, pinpointed an exact release date. The Release date for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be on September 23.

The last time any details came out about Shadow Warrior, a vague release date of "late September" was given.

Bandai Namco Games Europe, will be handling retail distribution of the game in Europe, the Middle East and Australaia.

Shadow Warrior will be released date will be September 26th, exactly a year after the PC version released date.

The console version has a few new features added to the PC one that hit last year. Those include an Arena mode with waves of enemies, more campaign content revolving around the head of the Zilla Corporation, and weapons that pull from other Devolver franchises: the sledgehammer from Serious Sam 3, the katana from Hotline Miami, the "classic Shadow Warrior" katana, and the Zilla Enterprises Z45 katana.

Shadow Warrior received mixed reviews on PC. Devolver previously said it was aiming for the console versions to cost $39.99, so presumably that price point still applies.

While there seems to be no set in stone release date for North America, standard video game release logic dictates that "Shadow Warrior" will probably be releasing the Tuesday immediately before the European release date, which will be September 23rd. We'll keep you up-to-date if anything changes on that front.
