Queen And Adam Lambert Tour 2014: Sold-Out Atlantic City Leg Shows Off ‘American Idol’ Alum’s Vocal Presence; Freddie Mercury’s ‘Replacement’ Prepares For More ‘Ridiculous’ Shows

Queen and Adam Lambert Tour 2014 continues to prove the "American Idol" runner-up as a worthy heir to Freddie Mercury's throne, as its Atlantic City leg was sold-out. The flamboyant singer, meanwhile, is gearing up for more "ridiculous" shows.

A.D. Amorosi wrote for The Inquirer that the Queen and Adam Lambert Tour 2014 is successful because Adam Lambert didn't try to imitate Freddie Mercury, and that's because he didn't need to.

"The manner in which his athletic range slipped casually throughout 'Somebody to Love' ... seemed as natural as breathing. So, too, was Lambert's theatrical leap into his upper register during 'Who Wants to Live Forever,' an easy somersault," the publication added.

Meanwhile, the "American Idol" alum spoke to Yahoo Music where he expressed his gratefulness that the crowd has been receiving them warmly wherever the Queen and Adam Lambert Tour 2014 ends up, although most of audience started off as skeptical whether he could pull it off.

"It's a little bit of an escape and a journey," he said. "Parts of it are supposed to be ridiculous; that's the spirit of the band, that's what they always were, so that's one of the reasons why I wasn't shy with the fashion or some of my choices energetically onstage. That's the spirit of this band, that's how it was originally intended to be presented."

He also said that beyond the Queen and Adam Lambert Tour 2014, a studio album with entirely new song is possible.

"You can never say never at this point. I mean, if I had someone tell me five years ago, 'Oh, you're going to be on a summer arena tour with Queen,' I would have said, 'Really?' So I'm sure if it's the right thing and we all feel like it's the right time, the right song or whatever, it could happen," he added.

However, he quickly added that it's not being considered for the near future as the Queen and Adam Lambert Tour 2014 continues to conquer cities.
