Nokia Lumia 525 Price, Review: Specs Of Windows Smartphone Incl. 4” Display, Dual-Core Processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB Memory, 5 MP Camera; Colorful, Budget-Friendly Alternative

Nokia Lumia 525 price, review: Powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor paired with a Qualcomm MSM8227 chipset, Nokia's latest addition to its Lumia series sports a 4-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 8 GB internal storage (upgradable to 64 GB), 1 GB RAM, Windows Phone OS, and a 5 MP rear camera.

Available for around $173, the Lumia 525 is a colorful alternative if you're in the market looking for mid-range smartphones with cheaper price tags.

With the same dimension of 4.72 x 2.52 x 0.39 inches and weight of 124 grams, the Lumia 525's body and overall design is no different from its predecessor, the Lumia 520. But if you look closer, the Lumia 525 provides a better feel and finish. Its plastic and colorful body has a better grip and more premium look.

In terms of display quality, the Lumia 525 is no star smartphone. It has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and a pixel density of 233 ppi. Still, its 4-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is still good for reading, playing arcade games, and watching videos.

Aside from doubling the size of the Lumia 520's RAM, the 525 is almost the same as its predecessor. It is still powered by a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Plus, with integrated Adreno 305 graphics.

Although it lacks a substantial amount of upgrade under the hood, the indianexpress.com said after its bench test, "The phone did not show any lags when running several applications and switching between them." The Windows smartphone works well enough to avoid reboots and shutters.

The Lumia 520's 1430 mAh battery is also quite impressive. You get to have 336 hours of standby mode, or 10.60 hours of talk time.

Camera-wise, there is also no improvement from its predecessor. Both have the same 5 MP autofocus camera. The 525 still has no secondary camera and flash. Although the lack of a front camera is forgivable, having an LED flash could have helped a lot.

With its low price, colorful body, and fair processor, the Nokia Lumia 520 is still a fresh alternative. In fact, reports say that the smartphone scored nearly 45 percent of all Windows phones in India, and around 25 percent worldwide.
