Sony Xperia Z1 Price, Review: Android Smartphone Specs Incl. 5” Display, Quad-core Processor, 16 GB Memory, 2 GB RAM, 20.7 MP Camera; Still An Ironman Handset

Sony Xperia Z1 price, review: The Z1 features a 5-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen, 16 GB internal storage (expandable up to 64 GB), 2 GB RAM, Android 4.4.2 Jelly Bean OS (upgradable to 4.4.4 KitKat), and a very impressive 20.7 MP camera. It is powered by a 2.2 GHz Krait 400 quad-core processor coupled with a Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 chipset.

After its debut last year, this smartphone has already been replaced as Sony's flagship model by the Z2. But with its top-quality camera and sound performance, don't count this 2013 ironman just yet.

Measuring 5.67 x 2.91 x 0.33 inches and weighing 170 grams, the Z1 boasts its dust proof and water resistant IP58 certified feature that can last for 30 minutes in a 1-meter water. Meanwhile, the phone is framed by silver-colored aluminum giving its body a more solid feel.

Because its plastic sides extend a fraction of a millimeter over its glassy rear, the phone can endure more shocks from casual tosses. The only problem with its design is its general appearance. It's the kind of phone that takes some time before many of you love its overall look.

Using Sony's Triluminos technology which was first used by the Xperia Z Ultra, the Z1's display has its pros and cons. On one hand, it shows bright, vibrant, and crisp images. However, it has limited viewing angles. Still, it is undeniable that its resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and pixel density of 441 ppi is still pretty impressive.

Under the hood, its 2.2 GHz Krait 400 quad-core processor is impressively powerful. It is perfect for simultaneously opening different apps, web and media browsing, and even gaming. Many critics praised its performance for having very minimal up to zero glitches.

The camera has got to be the Z1's cherry on top. With its 20.7 MP rear and 2 MP front cameras, this handset is a very competent shooter. It sports a 1/2.3'' sensor size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, image stabilization, HDR, panorama. In fact, Sony boasts that it has the same power as its compacts.

Although it already has a predecessor, the Z1 is still a powerful smartphone to consider. And with its specs, it can still go head-to-head with many handsets in the market.
