August K-Pop Releases To Be Excited About

Summer is drawing to a close and for the home stretch, some of biggest stars in K-Pop will be releasing new music to exite their fans.

Here is a rundown of what to expect in the coming weeks.

WINNER is finally making their debut

YG Entertainment first introduced their newest boy band to us last year. After months of endless waiting and a couple close calls, it seems the five-member idol group is finally ready to debut. The group's first album, The Visitor, is due out on August 12.

SPICA sets their eyes on the US

K-Pop girl group SPICA is venturing where only an elite few idols have gone before - the US. The group is planning to drop their first US single "I Did It" on August 7. The song is said to evoke a feeling of 90's nostalgia while adding in elements of hip-hop and punk along with English-language lyrics. Shortly after the song's release, the group is scheduled to appear at KCON 2014 in Los Angeles where they will also perform on August 10.

BTS 1st album set for a late-August release

The Bangtan Boys (BTS) are planning a comeback for August 20 with their first full-length album Dark and Wild. The group's official website currently features a countdown timer to August 6 when the first teaser for hte comeback will be unveiled.

'Secret's Summer'

Popular K-Pop girl group Secret is planning to celebrate summer with a new mini-album. Secret's Summer is scheduled for release on August 11. K-Pop hitmaker Duble Sidekick is behind the group's lead single "I'm in Love" and the choreography for the tune will be done by well-known dance team PLAY. Secret's agency is going all out for the comeback with a nationally televised teaser planned and ad campaign throughout Seoul.

KARA to introduce new member Youngji in 6th EP

After the departure of Nicole and Jiyoung earlier this year, KARA selected a new member Youngji through a reality show pitting seven trainees against each other for the spot. Now, with the help of Duble Sidekick, KARA is planning to comeback on August 18 with their 6th EP Day & Night and show off the newest addition.

Other comebacks to keep an eye out for

Whether they are rumored or have been postponed, several other stars may be coming back this month. K-Pop fans can likely expect new releases from the following artists in August:

Mini albums from HIGH4 and Teen Top
Solo releases from SHINee's Taemin and Eunji from A Pink
A new album from T-ara
And maybe Psy... but really, who knows?
