Group AOA Receives Much Attention After Announcing Japan Debut To Be This October

Female idol group AOA is creating buzz in Japan even before they've made their official debut.

The popular K-pop group will be debuting in Japan on October 1 with their track "Miniskirt" now that they've finished their promotions for "Short Hair," which has gone on to rank high at No. 3 on the Japanese Tower Records World Chart.

AOA announced on their official Japanese website that they have partnered with one of Japan's largest music corporations, Universal Music, for their upcoming debut. The Japanese entertainment company has been involved with launching the successful debuts of K-pop groups such as KARA and Girls' Generation.

"We found AOA to be very distinct among all of the K-pop girl groups, and we saw a huge potential in them," stated a representative of Universal Music Japan, according to the publication Yahoo Entertainment Singapore.

AOA's ability to separate into an idol group and a dance group has reportedly been the main reason that Universal Music expressed great interest in the girl group.

The seven-member group got their foot in the door to the Japanese music industry last year when they held their first solo showcase. The group also performed at FNC Entertainment's family concert this past March for local K-pop fans.

AOA, also known as Ace of Angels, will be attending the "A-nation" concert on August 17 as Korea's representatives as well.

Along with the milestones in their careers within the Asian music industry, the members of AOA were also recently featured on a Billboard article for the music video for their addictive track "Bobbed Hair." The clip was ranked on the top 8 list on Billboard's "K-Pop Music Video Chart," becoming the only Korean girl group to accomplish this feat, according to the publication Yahoo Entertainment Malaysia.

After news that AOA will be making their debut in Japan surfaced, fans of the girl group have expressed their excitement regarding the upcoming comeback.

"I'm so happy! Time to start the countdown," wrote one fan on Allkpop.
