‘Avengers 3’ Spoilers; Adam Warlock Confirmed! Will He Join The Team As 'Infinity Gauntlet' Featured In Third Installment? Epic Battle Against Thanos Looms!

The speculation on the Easter Egg at the end credits of "Thor: The Dark World" has been confirmed. The cocoon in The Collector's space station is Adam Warlock and his existence confirms a grand confrontation with Thanos at some point-possibly "Avengers 3."

Eagle-eyed fans did not take long to point it out. Marvel has tried to keep mum, but "Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn" confirmed it to Empire Online in a spoiler filled podcast.

However, the scene in the movie showed the cocoon was broken, which means Adam Warlock is out somewhere in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Yahoo Movies UK gives the lowdown on Marvel's "cosmic phase" and introduce Adam Warlock:  "(He)is a character created to be the perfect human at a scientific installation called The Beehive. So far, so silly, but his debut in the Marvel film universe is important - as is the whole of Guardians of the Galaxy - to the studio's far-reaching plans.

We know that Marvel are working towards a film which will bring everyone together as Thanos (Josh Brolin) threatens existence itself once he acquires the Infinity Stones and places them in the Infinity Gauntlet.

This is believed to be Marvel's plan for Avengers 3, which is still some years off. When it does happen it will be an adaptation of Marvel's Infinity Gauntlet comic, in which Adam Warlock plays a pivotal role."

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" is slated to wrap up the earthbound phase as it picks up the plot from "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" so the MCU can move forward to battle Thanos. Another peripheral storyline is the collection of the Six Infinity Gems. The Collector was given one with the Aether, which was identified as the Reality Stone. The Tesseract is the Space Gem and it is not certain whether the stone on Loki's staff, now in possession of Baron Von Strucker as shown in "The Winter Soldier" post credits.

Adam Warlock is synonymous with Thanos and Guardians of the Galaxy. He will definitely be a major character since he is the key to defeat Thanos in Phase 3. But the Cinematic Universe does not follow the comics verbatim, does it?
