'Minecraft' Xbox One Release Date Leaked: Price, Features, And Gameplay: 4J Studios Says They Are Still Working On Bugs [PHOTO]

"Minecraft" for Xbox One and PS4 will be coming this month. However, 4J Studious has not yet announced an exact release date. A report by Now Gamer on Aug 4 has revealed that a Game Stop is now listing a specific date for the launch of the new "Minecraft" games.

A user from the Minecraft forums claims to have discovered the release date after asking for a print out from his local GameStop that shows all upcoming Xbox One titles that are currently scheduled to launch on the Xbox One this month. According to this list "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" has an August 19 release date. Many suspect this date may just be a placeholder.

If the retailer listing is correct, fans can also assume that the Playstation 4 and PS Vita versions of "Minecraft" are also likely to launch on the same day. All three upcoming versions of the block-filled title have been in development at the same time and are all marked to launch this month.

4J Studios recently confirmed that all that is left to do to prepare "Minecraft" Xbox One, PS4, and PS Vita editions for release is a final pass at removing bugs from the game. The developer announced that they will soon be sending the titles to undergo certification testing to be cleared to appear on Xbox Live and the Playstation Network.

4J Studios' latest status update was related to the bug fixes for the "Minecraft: Xbox One," PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita editions. All three versions must go through some certification with Sony and Microsoft before they can be released to their consoles. The process usually doesn't take more than two weeks, which makes August 19 to be a solid date in case 4J Studios managed to send the versions to Sony and Microsoft before August 5.

The next-generation console versions of "Minecraft" will have 36x larger worlds, but will only support 8 players at first.

Gamers that already play Minecraft on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will be able to save their worlds and import them to the Minecraft: Xbox One and PlayStation 4. However, they will not be able to save worlds on the next-generation consoles and import them to their predecessors.

If you already own "Minecraft" on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, you will be able to upgrade it to the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 versions for only 4.99 dollars. New "Minecraft" players need to pay 19.99 for a copy of the game for next-gen consoles.

Scotland-based game developer 4J gave details about the console versions of the game on Aug. 1 on its Twitter page.

"We're still fixing #MinecraftXbox1, #MinecraftPS4 and #MinecraftPSVita bugs. We'll let you know when we hand over to the Cert testing teams," 4J said.

Roger Carpenter, lead producer of "Minecraft" on the Xbox One and Xbox 360, responded to a question asked by fans regarding the version of the game on the Xbox 360.

"Stopping X360 updates because of Next Gen versions?" ...err, no we're not stopping making updates for X360 :) #MinecraftXBLA," he wrote on his Twitter account.

In summation, if 4J sent in "Minecraft" by yesterday, then the August 19 release date is possible. If they didn't, then the August 19 release date accidentally released by Gamestop is just a placeholder date.
