Zach Lavine 2015 NBA Dunk Contest Winner? [VIDEO] Minnesota Rookie Has Jaws Dropping With Amazing Throwdowns!

Zach Lavine was the drafted 13th overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Admittedly he wasn't much of a stats machine in his lone college year at UCLA, but he had one trait that can make him survive in the NBA.

Lavine has monstrous athleticism, and that was already evident in the pre-draft workouts. He measured a 46-inch vertical when he worked out for the Los Angeles Lakers and he also had dazzling dunks that went viral over the internet during various scrimmages.

The Minnesota Timberwolves drafted him with the thought of developing him as a tall, athletic point guard who can play behind or alongside Ricky Rubio.

His position would hardly matter, as most fans would rather see him dunk, and Rubio would be able to lob some alley oops. With the addition of Andrew Wiggins, the Timberwolves probably have the 2015 NBA Dunk Contest finalists in their fold.

Sure, they might struggle more to win than their ex-star Kevin Love but the Timberwolves seats won't be empty.

LA Sports Hub, a networked sports blog from Zach's hometown, boldly predicted his victory:

"Do we really have to wait until February? It's hard to imagine anybody actually out-dunking Zach LaVine. Ever since the 2014 NBA Draft, Zach has been showing up at Pro-Am games and going berserk with some of the most impressive dunks I have seen in a long time. Not only is he jumping ridiculously high, but he is also throwing down dunks that should probably be illegal. It almost isn't fair."

Don't take their word for it, watch the video from Seattle Pro-Am:

"The creativity combined with the athleticism is impressive . These dunks by LaVine are very Vince Carter-in-2000-esque. .

Mark it down right now: Zach Lavine will win the 2015 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. That is my bold prediction for this upcoming season. Based on what we've seen, it may not even be that bold."

Vince Carter's dunks in 2000 would probably go down in history as the best of all time. In 14 years, it has never been dislodged. Maybe next year..
