Mnet's 'M! Countdown' Concert Brings In 30,000 Fans At 'KCON 2014' In L.A.

"KCON 2014," which was held in Los Angeles this past weekend, may have been the biggest K-pop event of the year thus far.

The concert, which was hosted by Mnet's "M! Countdown," was held at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena over a course of two days for a total of 30,000 international fans.

K-pop sensations G-Dragon, IU, VIXX, TEEN TOP and B1A4 performed on stage for fans on August 9 while Girls' Generation, CNBLUE, BTS, Jung Joon Young and others took on the stage on August 10. Singer Jung Joon Young also took on the role of the MC for the entire concert.

As amazing as the concert was for fans, "KCON 2014" was an incredible platform for Korean artists to get their names out in the States.

"Media from all over the world attended this concert to report on the show. Many U.S. media outlets including NBC, L.A. Times, CBS, FOX 11 and others spotlighted the concert and held interviews with many of the artists," an associate of Mnet commented.

A recording of the concert will air as a TV special on August 14.

Girls Generation member Tiffany expressed to fans that she was "truly amazed" to see the number of fans Korean pop artists had in the States, according to Billboard.

"If KCON was around when I lived here, I am sure I would have been there dancing and celebrating Korean culture," the idol member stated.

The idol groups made sure to mix their music with a few international hits as well. Girl group SPICA kicked off their set with their single "You Don't Love Me" before singing a '90s R&B mashup of Boyz II Men's "Thank You" and Blackstreet's "No Diggity."

Of all the artists that performed, rookie boy band BTS was the newest addition to the K-pop scene. The boys of BTS gave a strong performance during the course of the concert.

"We're so honored to be here," stated BTS leader Rap Monster.
