CNBLUE: “We Would Like to Return the Love of Our Fans”

It was almost a year back when CNBLUE first came to Malaysia for their solo Bluemoon concert tour in 2013 and the South Korean rock band was back in town this past weekend for a new concert series, Can't Stop Live in Malaysia. Talking to a group of media representatives on a Friday evening at Double Tree Hotel, CNBLUE, comprises of leader, vocalist and guitarist Jung Yonghwa, lead guitarist Lee Jonghyun, drummer Kang Minhyuk and bassist Lee Jungshin, greeted the media with "Apa khabar semua? Kami CNBLUE!" (How are you? We are CNBLUE!)

Looking cool and dapper in blue and white shirts, the band talked about being back in Malaysia for the second time. Yonghwa, who also sported a grey suit, said that it feels great to be back here and thanked the fans for the warm welcome. He further said that this is not going to be the last time they are here so fans can keep looking forward to their visits. That is good news, indeed!

When asked what they would like the concert in Malaysia to be like, Yonghwa said he wanted the Malaysia concert to be an "unforgettable moment" among the Can't Stop concert series. Admitting that fans are very important to the band, he also further stated that, "we would like to return the love of our fans by performing well in the concert." The band members seems to have a few things up their sleeves as Jungshin also added that he hoped fans would look forward to the concert. Fans can surely look forward to it as CNBLUE had never failed to be impressive in their live concerts so far.

Having had written most of their songs themselves, Yonghwa admitted that there are many requests from other artists for songs, but the band would like to focus on themselves and their albums for now. Earlier in February this year, CNBLUE had released their fifth mini album in Korea titled Can't Stop, an album that is filled with songs written by Yonghwa and Jonghyun. Commenting on the mature sound of the album that is different from their previous ones, Yonghwa said, "instead of having only one genre in the album, we like to have different genres." Proving the album is not just filled with fillers, it boasts tracks such as Can't Stop as the title track and equally great tracks such as Sleepless Night, Love Is, Like A Child and Diamond Girl that are geared towards live performances.

Being active in the music industry since 2009 means that CNBLUE is no stranger to hectic and tight schedule. When asked what they do to release stress, Jungshin said they exercise a lot. Yonghwa, who had been busy filming for the 12-episodes drama The Three Musketeers said that it was difficult for him to focus right now because of the drama shooting. He mentioned doing horseback-riding for the drama and that got Minhyuk to say how he wanted to try horseback-riding too, since Yonghwa and Jungshin had been doing it. Yonghwa also shared a story involving Jungshin who had said a lie saying that he was good in horseback-riding when in actual fact he was not. His story made the atmosphere in the room a bit more cheerful as the members smiled and laughed among themselves. Even Jonghyun, who had not said anything since the beginning, shared a few smiles and laughs.

There will surely be a lot of things to look forward to if you are a BOICE (CNBLUE fans). After the Can't Stop concert series ended, Yonghwa plans to release his solo album which he had been preparing. There will also be The Three Muskeeters drama to look forward to, starring Yonghwa. However, not only Yonghwa has been busy in dramaland as the CNBLUE's maknae (youngest member) is also currently busy acting in a drama called Temptation with Kwon Sang Woo and Choi Ji Woo. We wish CNBLUE all the best for all their future plans!
