KCON & 'Danny from LA' Dumbfoundead To Host B-Boy Battle Royale In NYC

Dumbfoundead (Parker) will be hosting the upcoming B-Boy Battle Royale in New York City. This is the first McDonald's B-Boy Battle Royale which will feature a competition between top break dancers and street crews.

K-Pop and the B-Boy Scene

Break-dancing has found a strong following within Korean and Korean-American hip hop communities. Prominent b-boys include Jay Park and his crew Art of Motion or AOM. His involvement with B-Boy competitions has led Jay Park to become the official ambassador for the past three years of the Korea's R16 competition.

R16 features international competitors, while the McDonald's B-Boy Battle Royale will highlight performers from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and other areas.

Dance crews such as “America's Best Dance Crew” season one winners Jabbawockeez helped to increase exposure to street dance through their Las Vegas performances and appearance in “Step Up 2:The Streets.”

Dumbfoundead will deliver a post KCON performance.

“Danny from LA” co-host Dumbfoundead will be performing at the McDonald's B-Boy Battle Royale, fresh off of his hosting appearances at KCON 2014.

Dumbfoundead also recently announced that he will be throwing out the first pitch for the Koreatown Baseball Night at LA Dodger's Stadium on Friday, September 5.

There will be five judges for the B-Boy Battle Royale with a $3,000 prize for the first place winner and $1,000 for the second place winner.

McDonald's B-Boy Battle Royale will take place on Saturday, August 16 at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.

Tickets for the B-Boy Battle Royale range from $15-$20 with all proceeds benefiting the Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Tri-State area.
