‘Scandal’ Cast Columbus Short Sends Apology To The Man He Attacked? Fugitive Actor Expresses Regrets Through Text Message

Former "Scandal" cast Columbus Short's controversy has not ended as the fugitive actor, who reportedly fled to Barbados after he failed to attend his domestic violence case last week, sent a text message stating his apologies to the man he attacked last March.

In a report published in TMZ, the news site has reportedly taken hold of an SMS message that former "Scandal" cast Columbus Short sent to the person he hit. The actor, popularly known for his role as Harrison Wright, allegedly gave the communication on the night that the attack took place.

The actor reportedly wrote: "I know im texting and incriminating myself but I have to own what I did wrong in that situation."

"Im so sorry and completely disappointed in myself. Whether I go to jail or not that will be the worst punishment of all. Losing you guys," the former "Scandal" cast Columbus Short allegedly added.

While the text message was in itself an admission of his guilt, Olivia Pope's former associate claimed last month that the attack only happened because he was defending his wife.

During an interview with Atlanta-based radio station, V-103, the actor claimed that he was merely protecting his wife, Tanee McCall, against the person whom he claimed was disrespecting her.

"I had to defend my wife at a bar. This man was being highly, highly disrespectful... slapping her in the face with $20 bills," former "Scandal" cast Columbus Short.

The man, who was identified by Mail Online as Felton Hyche III, was reportedly speaking too much with Columbus Short's wife that it eventually came to the point where the actor had to defend himself.

TMZ reported that the incident happened at L.A.'s Gabe's Bar and Grill last March 15. Sources revealed that the former "Scandal" cast punched the man's face and thereafter he hit the ground. A photo released by the news site showed the man unconscious as he was being taken to the hospital. Mr. Hyche was seen wearing a neck brace at that time.
