For fans wondering how Disney's "Frozen" came to life, ABC confirmed that it would air a special entitled "The Story of Frozen: Making a Disney Animated Classic." The "Frozen" ABC documentary will not only show behind-the-scenes but will also provide news about the film's beloved characters.

The one-hour "Frozen" ABC documentary will feature interviews from the people who created the film - the directors, production directors, songwriters, and even the voices behind Anna and Elsa.

"Viewers will take a journey to the beautiful Norwegian villages and landscapes that inspired the look of Arendelle - the fictional kingdom - and see images and footage from the research trips to Norway, Quebec and points beyond that helped create the film's unforgettable look and feel," read the documentary's description as reported by Cinema Blend.

Apart from "Frozen 2," several projects have been lined up for the franchise. A book series will be released soon as Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff make their television debut in ABC's "Once Upon a Time."

Huff Post Entertainment likewise reports that Disney and its CEO Bob Iger are pleased to come up with a five-year plan for the franchise. The plan not only includes theatrical releases and merchandise but also theme parks and ice shows. A "Frozen" ride is reportedly being conceptualized by Imagineers as a replacement for Epcot's "Maelstrom" attraction.

"So you can expect us to take full advantage of that over the next at least five years," confirmed Iger according to the publication.

Starting August 22, Disney will show "Frozen The Sing-Along" at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California for two weeks. The "Frozen on Ice," on the other hand, will begin on September 4 at Orlando's Amway Center.

ABC's "Frozen" documentary will air on September 2 at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC network.
