Nicki Minaj Beats Michael Jackson U.S. Chart Record: Nicki Minaj Anaconda Hypnotizes The Charts; Jackson Would Still Be King of Pop If He Took Credit For Guest Appearances

Nicki Minaj beat Michael Jackson's U.S. chart record. The King of Pop would still have the record if he took credit for all his guest appearances.

Nicki Minaj's not new single "Anaconda" made history as the rapper beat Michael Jackson's record for the most Billboard Hot 100 hits.

Minaj took to Instagram to announce "Made history today, I didn't even know I was tied with Michael Jackson with 50 Hot 100 entries on Billboard. Anaconda makes 51 and now I'm tied with Rod Stewart. God bless, and thank you."

Minaj's new track "Anaconda" debuted at number 19. Anaconda is Nicki's 51st Hot 100 hit. The single is Minaj's twentieth feature as the lead artist. The other 31 charting songs featured Minaj as a guest artist. Michael Jackson sang lead or co-lead in all of his 50 Hot 100 hits.

Minaj first hit the U.S. charts in February 2010 on Lil Wayne's hit tune "Knockout." Minaj had her own hit four months later when she debuted "Your Love."

Not all Jackson's guest appearances on records included. Jackson didn't get credit for singing on Rockwell's "Somebody's Watching Me" or Diana Ross's "Eaten Alive." Had Jackson taken credit he could have maintained his Billboard crown.
