‘The Vampire Diaries’ Episodes Might End After Season Six; One Lead Character Reluctant To Renew Contract With Network?

Rumors are circulating that one lead star of "The Vampire Diaries" has not yet signed a contract for the seventh season. However, it wasn't revealed who it was among the three lead stars - Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, and Paul Wesley.

As per several insiders, the remaining star is allegedly reluctant whether he or she will stick to the series. "The Vampire Diaries" season 5 proved to be successful when it averaged more than 2 million viewers.

E! News reports that the network is considering to continue the hit vampire series even if the lead stars will be incomplete. The network is reportedly thinking of putting the spotlight on other "The Vampire Diaries" cast members should one of the lead stars refuse to stay.

As for executive producer Julie Plec, the show will continue "as long as the actors want the show to go." During the Comic-Con interview done by the publication, Plec talked about the future of the series which according to her was initially snubbed as it was branded as a "Twilight rip-off."

"You know, look, everybody's under contract. I know that we've got plans for season six, we've got plans for season seven. I know that our bosses have plans for seasons eight, nine, and 10. I said I want to be part of it as long as I know I could keep telling good stories and as long as the ensemble people that I work with want to be there and are committed and dedicated. So, so far so good, you know. We'll see how long we can stay, doing it well. We'll make sure that we don't start sucking," she explained.

As early as now, Plec already has a finale in mind. She disclosed that she conceptualized the scene four years ago with screenwriter Kevin Williamson and that such scene made her cry.

Who do you think will leave Mystic Falls?
