Robin Williams Suffers from Parkinson’s disease, Depression And Anxiety

The link between Parkinson's disease and depression is now being much talked about after movie legend's Robin Williams death,

Reuters reported that Williams widow, Susan Schneider disclosed that her husband was also suffering from Parkinson's disease.

Williams' 63, was found dead at his home, Monday for an apparent suicide. Williams was suffering from severe depression and health practitioners said tat there is a co-relation between the two.

There are said to be about 1 million people afflicted with Parkinson's disease in the United States.

"It is our hope in the wake of Robin's tragic passing that others will find the strength to seek the care and support they need to treat whatever battles they are facing so they may feel less afraid," Schneider was quoted as saying said in the statement.

She added, since his passing, all of us who loved Robin have found some solace in the tremendous outpouring of affection and admiration for him from the millions of people whose lives he touched,"

In Hollywood, actor Michael J. Fox, Muhammad Ali and singer Linda Ronstadt have all been suffering from Parkinson's.

Williams has been struggling with alcoholism, the comedian who entertained the world with movies like 'Mrs. Doubtfire, 'Good Morning Vietnam', 'Dead Poet Society' and 'Hook,' is also afflicted with anxiety.

In related news, award-giving body, Emmy's will be honoring Williams this month with a "meaningful" tribute.

CBS News reported that Emmy Award Producer Don Mischer that there is a plan for a segment dedicated to Williams, airing on NBC on Aug. 25.

Mischer said in a statement, "While we are all still coming to terms with this week's tragic news, we are working to give Robin Williams the proper and meaningful remembrance he so well deserves."
