Ted 2 Movie Plot Experiencing A Major Setback; 'Family Guy' Creator Seth MacFarlane Being Sued By 'Charlie The Abusive Teddy Bear' Creators

Ted 2 movie release date has been set on 2015 and now that its human lead star Mark Wahlberg is done with the box office hit robot themed film, Transformers: Age of Extinction, the production is set to start on July 21 in Boston.

However, the sequel to the foul-mouthed drunkard teddy bear is in trouble. Bengal Mangle Productions filed a lawsuit against Seth MacFarlane, claiming that the genius behind the live teddy bear stole the idea behind the hit film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter who got a copy of the complaint, Acting School Academy is the original screenplay where the idea of Ted was stolen.

It came out in 2008 where like Ted, a foul-mouthed drunkard teddy bear named Charlie is the lead star of the film.

The resemblance of the setting and the story itself is shocking, Charlie who lives in the world of humans has human friends just like Ted and "has a penchant for drinking, smoking, prostitutes."

The Acting School Academy immediately rise to fame locally and was turned into a mini web series posted on social media sites like YouTube and was even made available in iTunes during 2009-2010, two years prior to the release date of the first Ted movie.

The character of Charlie soon got his own spinoff series on YouTube titled, Charlie the Abusive Teddy Bear on 2009.

The complaint claims, "Defendants' Ted character is strikingly similar to Plaintiff's Charlie character. Defendants had access to Charlie because Acting School Academy was available and widely disseminated on websites including YouTube.com, Facebook.com, iTunes, FunnyorDie.com, Vimeo.com, Metacafe.com, Koldcast.tv, and Blip.tv from on or around July 31, 2009 to November 30, 2010."

And if proven true, what would ever happen to the Ted 2 movie release date? It seems like Ted and the rest of the cast would have to clear things first before it does more damage.

The lawsuit even compared Ted and Charlie's posts on Twitter to give attention to the striking similarities between the two teddy bear characters.

Charlie's Tweets: "You ever wonder how I even talk? I mean is my brain made of cotton? I am so high right now!"

Ted's Tweets on the other hand reads: "I got so stoned last night that that [sic] I accidentally smoked some of my own stuffing. Not as bad as you'd think."

Seth MacFarlane has yet to comment on the issue as of press time.

The question now is, will Ted 2 movie release date be scrapped?
