Big Bang Chosen As Final Winner For U.S. Billboard 'FAN ARMY FACE-OFF' Poll

Idol group Big Bang's fan base, VIP, has become the final winner for U.S. Billboard's "Fan Army Face-Off" poll.

The VIPs took up an impressive 91% of the rating, according the Korea Times. They beat out Thirty Seconds to Mars' fan group Echelon as well as the fan bases for Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Girls' Generation and Skrillex, all of which have incredibly devoted fan groups.

Big Bang's fan group proved their undeniable devotion to the Korean pop group, writing that "once someone becomes a VIP they stay a VIP for life," according to Billboard.

"During 2011, when Big Bang faced their darkest times, we came together and helped to earn them an MTV EMA for Best Worldwide Act, showing the long term faith we still have," wrote the fan group.

The poll conducted by the music magazine began on July 7 and started with the 32 fan groups of different musicians. News of Big Bang's win after a total of five rounds was released on the same day as the K-pop group's eighth year anniversary since debuting.

Big Bang's agency, YG Entertainment, reportedly stated that the win was a "meaningful gift" to the group because of their anniversary.

The five-member group consists of members G-Dragon, Top, Daesung, Seungri and Taeyang. The boys debuted back in August 2006 and went viral with hits including "Haru Haru" and "Lies."

Each of the members has gone on to pursue solo careers in both acting and singing. Top and Seungri officially got their foot in the door in the Korean acting industry while Taeyang and Daesung have gained musical success with the release of their most recent solo albums.

Although the members of Big Bang can clearly do wonderfully well outside of the group, fans are awaiting the highly-anticipated return of the boys as a group. To the joy of the VIPs, leader G-Dragon revealed that they'll be making their comeback shortly.

"It's been a while since Big Bang released an album. I've been busy playing instead of working hard producing, so we couldn't. I apologize. Anyway, I'll work hard producing and try my best, so that we can release an album this year," stated the musician, according to Allkpop.
