Real Housewives Of Atlanta Phaedra Parks Divorce Update: The star of Atlanta Housewives, Phaedra Parks, is filing divorce from her husband Apollo Nida, and nobody can blame the Southern bell for making the life changing decision. Inside sources say Phaedra would have filed for divorce a long time ago if the pair never made children together because he spent too much time adn money in the strip clubs and flirted with Kenya Moore too often. But now Phaedra can't livie in this marriage any longer. Phaedra must be absolutely furious at her husband Apollo for getting thrown in jail yet AGAIN. Phaedra, always the lady, is currently acting like nothing is wrong in her life, but the public knows how hard the last year has been on Parks. His behavior was irresponsible while Apollo knew he had a family to protect and support. When Phaedra was a no show to her husband's trial, rumors starting flying that Parks wanted out. His attorney wife was too busy to make the biggest trial of his life, sending out the message that she's ready for a divorce, and the rumors were correct. And this is the perfect time for Phaedra to divorce Apollo. He currently owes $2 million from stealing peoples' identities and committing multiple acts of fraud.  A divorce would let Phaedra off the hook from those debts. Nida was sentenced to 8 years behind bars and his marriage is completely broken. A rough few month for teh Real Housewives of Atlanta stars.  What devoted wife skips their spouse's trial? Most likely, Phaedra didn't want to wait around for husband Apollo to get out of prison. Nida was asked during a radio interview if he thinks his marriage with Phaedra could make it through the storm. Apollo answered honestly, "I doubt it." Apollo added that he is still 'salty' that Phaedra didn't appear at his trial. But how angry can Apollo possibly be with Parks? Now the Real Housewives starlet will have to raise two small children by herself, without her husband or the father of her children.

Back In May Apollo was candid about his relationship with Phaedra admitting, "I would like to say I would want her to stay around and do what a wife should do. But tomorrow's not promised." Sounda like Nida was well aware that Parks committment is fleeting (as it should be). But the problems between Apollo and Phaedra are not new and started as far back as two seasons ago on Real Housewives of Atlanta. We knew divorce was in their future when Phaedra ignored Apollo for days for texting frenemie Kenya Moore. He just couldn't apologize and that kind of stubborness can not lead to a healthy marriage. They barely spoke in Mexico and Nida was still checking out Moore, not even caring how Parks felt about it. Phaedra is too classy and intelligent for that loser! But Phaedra is also at fault for choosing the convicted criminal in the first place. My prediction is that the southern bell will toughen up and move on rather hastily. If Phaedra is as smart as she seems she'll forget all about Apollo rotting in jail, divorce his sorry butt, and ask Bravo to start a Real Housewives of Atlanta spin-off, documenting her family dealing with life without Nida. Phaedra is no fool and knows how to make money out of anything! Successful Phaedra must be sctratching her head wondering why she picked Apollo to be her husband and the father of her two little boys as he goes to jail for a thrid time. The 8 year outcome is sad, but well deserved and even a little light considering Nida was facing 30 years in jail for Nida stealing the identities of more than 50 people and laundered more than $2.3 million. In addition, Apollo allegedly opened bank accounts in those individuals' names, funneling stolen U.S. Treasury checks and auto loan proceeds into the accounts. Prosecutors say that Apollo, along with a few other criminals, also created fake documents and websites to secure them.

I think Phaedra knew Apollo was up to something shady, but Parks wanted to believe her criminal husband could change his ways. But she was very wrong. Nida unfortunately brought other down with hi. Apollo's partner, who was also charged with fraud alongside Apollo, has just received 5 years in jail. Apollo certainly underutilizd the rare platform that wife Phaedra has successfully made for her family. It's all very very sad. Apollo Nida was previously convicted and sentenced to prison for racketeering and began serving his sentence July 28, 2004. He served nearly 5 years of his 18-year sentence before being paroled in May 2009. Apollo ALSO served close to 5 months from December 29, 1998 to May 14, 1999 for theft by receiving stolen goods. Apollo has admitted that he had a difficult childhood which included watching a family member die from a heroine overdose when he was a kid. Nida has a sad story and we wouldn't wish that on any child but is a bad childhood an excuse for Nida to continuously break the law, violating elders' social security benefits, and hiring another to go along with his schemes? Nida knew he was on RHOA! Don't reality stars realize everything they do will be put under a microscope? If you're going to break the law, you shouldn't be on television for the world to stare at you, right? Didn't think that ever needed to be said, but Real Housewives Of New Jersey Teresa and Joe Giudice did the same thing and have gotten caught as well. Certainly being on a hit show like RHOA gave Nida the platform to make money in legal ways! What about Apollo and Phaedra Parks doing thier workout video?! Was RHOA and the projects that fell from the show not lucrative enough for Nida.

His legal team said in a statement about the trial, "Mr. Nida's lengthy but early small-time criminal history is simply not in the same league as the 'violent offenders, drug kingpins and perpetrators of far more serious offenses' that Criminal History Category V was designed to address." Maybe Parks would have been a better attorney for her husband than the team her hired! We doubt Phaedra would ever defend her husband ever again.

'PleaseCallSecurity' wrote me: How do you stay with someone who would steal others people hard earned money that they will most likely never get back? Its not what he did, but the kind of heart it takes to do that. I would not trust him with my life or my finances. He has showed that the money is his main priority and he is willing to do anything for it. How can you trust someone like that enough to stay in a relationship with them?

'ByeBoy' wrote: "For better or for worse". How quickly people forget. This is her huuuzband. She knew exactly what she had. She wanted to uphold him when she thought another woman wanted him. Uphold him now.

DO you think Phaedra should leave Apollo?
