Korean Media Reports On WINNER Member Nam Tae Hyun's Past As Delinquent

Another YG Entertainment's artist is coming under fire in South Korea for his behavior while a student.

Nam Tae Hyun, one of the members of YG's newly debuted WINNER, has recently been accused of being "iljin" in high school. "Iljin" is a South Korean term meaning "first team," and is usually meant to imply that someone has a bad reputation during their school years.

In essence, people have been posting on Korean websites that they went to school with Nam Tae Hyun and have claimed that he was forced to transfer schools after beating up another student.

The people who have posted are using pictures and class yearbooks to prove that they went to school with the YG Entertainment artist, and the postings paint Nam Tae Hyun in a very bad light.

"There were rumors that he beat a kid up to the point of hospitalization for weeks and so he was forced to transfer schools," one post claimed, "But after transferring, he got into another group of scary kids and started stealing things and smoking once again. Our school's iljins were so bad to the point where police had to come often."

Someone even posted what they are saying is the original message Nam Tae Hyun posted on Cyworld when dealing with the repercussions of his bad behavior.  It appears to be further proof that Nam Tae Hyun had to transfer schools: "The school I'm trying to transfer to won't accept me... I'm so screwed if Hansan (another school) doesn't accept me again. I have to go far away then... Sh*t, is this a joke..; Hansan has to let me in. Don't spread this around ㅜㅜ Wait for me."

Reactions to the postings were filled with condemnation for "iljin" behavior, but also in confusion as to how all of this news only came out once WINNER debuted.

Neither YG Entertainment nor Nam Tae Hyun has commented at this point.
