Samsung Galaxy S4 owners can now install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update via custom firmware.

A new custom ROM based on Google's latest mobile operating system has been released for the 2013 flagship smartphone of the South Korean tech manufacturer.

According to the list of specs reported on GSM Arena, the latest and official update made available for the Samsung Galaxy S4 is the Android 4.2 KitKat. But thanks to custom ROM developers, a new firmware based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat update is released for the Samsung Galaxy S4.

The latest custom ROM is called SlimSaberKat ROM and reportedly, it is available for the GT-I9505 model of the smartphone.

According to the International Business Times post, the latest SlimSaberKat ROM is "based on Android v4.4.4 KitKat OS and SlimKat custom firmware."

Also, those who will install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy S4 will find customization options, as well as performance improvements on the device.
