Former member of girl group KARA Kang Ji Young is currently preparing for her debut as an actress in Japan.

Kang has signed a contract with the Japanese management agency, Sweet Power, the entertainment company responsible for the success of actresses including Horikita Maki, Kroki Maysa and Kyritani Mirae, according to the Japanese website Oricon.

The former idol member has decided to debut in the Japanese entertainment industry using her real name Ji Young, according to the Japanese publication.

"After Ji Young left KARA, she went to London to continue with her studies and attend acting school. Since August, Ji Young signed with Sweet Power and has been preparing to work as an actress in Japan," stated an associate for Ji Young's new agency.

Ji Young will be making her official debut in the Japanese Entertainment industry by modeling at the "19th Tokyo Girl's Collection" fashion event on September 9, according to the Korean publication Osen. The musician and actress is reportedly expected to make more small screen appearances in October of this year.

Ji Young's stunning looks isn't the only aspect of the former K-pop artist that got the attention of her new Japanese management company.

"Ji Young is fluent in both Japanese and English which makes her one of the small handful of Korean actresses that don't need a translator when working. She's also very familiar with stunt moves which will make her even more popular in Japan," wrote Oricon.

Former KARA members Ji Young and Nicole left the idol group together back in April, to the shock and dismay of K-pop fans all around. Soon after she left, Kang Ji Young uploaded a letter for her fans on her official Instagram page, according to Star N News. 

"I have been very busy for the past several years, and now I am enjoying every moment here. I want to read a lot of books, study English, and travel, doing the things that I could not do in the past," explained Kang.

She added, "I don't know when it will be, but I promise to return as a much more mature person. I realize that many fans have been getting concerned for various reasons, and I'd like to make a sincere apology."
