New 'Earth-Shattering' Pokemon Game To Be Revealed: Full 3D, Turn-Based, Open-World, Wii U, Pokken Fighters, Delta Emerald, Or Something Else Entirely?

Mark your calendars, because August 26 is looking to be a major news day for Pokemon fans around the world, with a brand new game announcement that could change the face of the franchise forever.

According to PokeJungle, it's been announced that a special Pokemon live stream will stream on August 26 at 9AM EST, titled Monthly Famitsu feat. Pokemon Special on NicoNico. Reportedly, the stream will be hosted by Ayana Tsubaki and Bunbun-maru, and will feature Tsunekazu Ishihara, the President of The Pokemon Company, as well as Hobuhiko Okamoto and Aoi Yuuki (voice actor Iris in the anime).

In addition, a recent edition of Japanese magazine Famitsu revealed that this announcement is of a "very new development" for Pokemon, and could be "earth-shattering."

With hype like this, it's no surprise that the Pokemon community are going wild predicting what new Pokemon game could be in store for fans.

"Is it the start of a second main series? Is Pokémon re-tooling the core RPG? Will we finally get a Wii U game or a console addition to the main series?" asked PokeJungle. And soon the online community followed up with their own suggestions.

"First ever HD 3D Pokemon game, with unique open world," predicted simkenno.

"What I expect is a Pokemon game that plays like real-time strategy and open world, in 3D," commented regidudea. "Pokemonb attles have always been turn-based strategy. Changing the core essence of Pokemon being turn-based to something else I feel is an 'earth-shattering' news."

"The only that I can imagine being ground-breaking is to introduce a new region and more new Pokemon in the middle of a generation," wrote HeavyMetalFairy. "I don't know man, I have a strong feeling it's going to happen."

What do you think this new alleged Pokemon game will be? Pokken Fighters? Delta Emerald? Or just another spin-off title?
