'Attack On Titan' Still Number 1 Manga In Japan As Fans Continue To Search For 'Attack On Titan' Season 2 Anime Updates

"Attack On Titan" remains on top of the Manga food chain as it continues to be the highest selling manga in Japan. While an "Attack On Titan" Season 2 anime adaptation has been confirmed for production, some questions still remain unanswered about the future of the anime.

As reported by Anime News Network, "Attack On Titan" remains the most popular manga in Japan for another week. Currently it has sold over one million copies, and it doesn't look like the popularity is going to stop anytime soon. Reactions to the newest chapter available in the Manga Helpers forum include: "great chapter!" and "how is this even possible!" (Warning! There are spoilers in this forum, so you might want to catch up before visiting.)

With the success of the manga there have been several cross medium adaptations, including an upcoming live action film "Attack on Titan" that will star Haruma Miura, although there has yet to be any certainty of which character he will play. In fact, there seems to be quite a bit of speculation regarding what the live action adaptation will entail, including some ideas that there will be all new characters introduced.

In the very least, "Attack on Titan" fans can still count on the anime adaptation to stay close to the original manga. There has yet to be any clear announcement on when "Attack on Titan" season 2 will premiere. According to Breathe Cast, "Wit Studios will not be releasing an 'Attack on Titan' Season 2 until the manga volumes 15 and 16 are launched first." They go on to speculate that this means fans can't expect to see the anime until August of 2015.

There has also been quite a few rumors circulating about a spinoff entitled "Attack On Titan: No Regrets, The Birth of Levi." According to Crunchyroll, the rumors are not confirmed, the most credible information available being a "deleted listing from electronics/multi-media shop Yodobashi Camera that had volume volume 15 of the main manga coming out December 9th with a OVA tieing into the spin-off."

Clearly, with the series' shocking plot twists and overwhelming popularity the studios are doing their best to keep information underwraps. It doesn't help that anime fans tend to also love to start rumors and popularize their own theories about the future of the series. Nevertheless, "Attack On Titan" will continue to make headlines as it is still one of the most popular franchises this year. Don't believe me?
