10 Super Junior Songs To Listen To Before 'Mamacita'

Two years have passed since Super Junior released an album in South Korea, and it's been five years since the group shot to stardom with the popular single, "Sorry Sorry." In anticipation of Super Junior's upcoming seventh full-length album, "Mamacita," here are ten iconic songs that made Super Junior super.

"Sorry Sorry"

One of the most iconic songs in K-Pop, "Sorry Sorry" gained global attention with its catchy hook and easy-to-emulate dance. Super Junior had been relatively popular prior to the release of "Sorry Sorry," but this song is the defining point in the group's career. It was also the last album that included Hankyung (Han Geng) and Kim Kibum, who have since departed from the mega-group.

"Twins (Knock Out)"

Even iconic songs aren't ones to be proud of, and Super Junior's members have made fun of their debut song time and time again. "Twins (Knock Out)" was originally released as "Knockout" by the British group Triple 8 in 2003, but in 2005 Super Junior 05 debuted with the Korean version. Super Junior performed the song for the first time as a group on November 6, 2005.

"U"

Not only was this Super Junior's most successful song prior to "Sorry Sorry," but "U" was the first time that Kyuhyun performed as am ember of Super Junior. The group had debuted as Super Junior 05 with twelve members who were supposed to rotate out as they got older, but fans became so attached SM Entertainment decided to add Kyuhyun and drop the 05-suffix. "U" is the first song to have all 13 members of Super Junior perform in it.

"Don't Don"

The song led to one of Super Junior's first of many controversies, when Henry Lau appeared in the video and shortly after was announced to be debuting as part of Super Junior-M. Henry has since become a popular member of Super Junior-M and debuted as a solo artist, but at the time, Super Junior fans rejected Henry, insisting on "only 13" members of Super Junior.

"Miracle"

A little bit cheesy, with lyrics like "life couldn't get better," Super Junior's song "Miracle" is an anthem for people who are in the middle of something great. The song is about a relationship, but as it was off of the "Super Junior 05" album, it's become representative of the group and its fans, whose lives "got better" thanks to the debut of the group.

"Marry U"

While Super Junior has topped charts with primarily dance songs, "Marry U" was Super Junior's first romantic, ballad-esque song that gained much attention. It was so successful that Super Junior's first mini concert was named after it. Although it didn't reach as much success as other Super Junior songs had prior, the image of Super Junior's members in tuxedos from "Marry U" became iconic.

"It's You"

"It's You" is the final song to feature thirteen members of Super Junior in the music video; both Kibum and Hankyung are featured in the opening of the song. "It's You" is beautiful and takes Super Junior's dance and R&B infused style to another level, with the members voices being more clearly heard and harmonized in "It's You" than in most of Super Junior's dance songs.. The song was released as a follow up to "Sorry Sorry," and was greeted with much acclaim.

"No Other"

One of the sweetest music videos in K-Pop, Super Junior changed up its image after "Sorry Sorry" and "Bonamana" gained the group a reputation of having heavily dance-focused, syntho-pop songs. Instead, "No Other", similarly to "It's You" had a music video with a plot and gave each member solo lines, emphasizing their individual voices rather than the group's sound.

"Oops" feat f(x)

One of the oddest songs in Super Junior's arsenal, "Oops" has several Super Junior members bragging about being the best, and then insulting other members at the same time. It's not iconic, and many Super Junior fans haven't even really listened to "Oops," but take some time and read the English lyrics to see how much fun the idol group has with one another.

"Rockstar"

An almost obnoxious ode to Super Junior's success, "Rockstar" has a unique, upbeat sound to it that is borderline awkward. But the song is the perfect thing to get people dancing in their seat, and Super Junior's turned it into one of the most iconic songs that they perform live at the group's Super Show concerts, thanks to some of the members running around the stage shirtless shouting "I'm a rockstar!"

"A Short Journey"

One of the most heartfelt songs in all of Super Junior's repertoire, the song was released as a parting message from Super Junior's Kangin when he enlisted in the army. After a series of scandals, Kangin enlisted in the army to apologize for his behavior. Rather than leaving fans unsure of his position in Super Junior, "A Short Journey" made it clear that Kangin planned to return to the group.

Honorable Mentions: "Bonamana," "Sexy, Free & Single," "Mr. Simple," "Acha"
