Crayon Pop Blows Up With Taiwan Concert And Upcoming Album

In lieu of girl group Crayon Pop's upcoming first solo concert in Taiwan, local media outlets have been providing the idol group with quite a bit of attention.

The K-pop group was featured on CTV's entertainment program "NEW," where it was revealed that the "Bar Bar Bar" singers would be holding their "2014 Crayon Pop Mini Live in Taipei" concert on August 24 at the Taipei International Convention Center.

"NEW" made sure to show footage of the members of Crayon Pop when they first debuted with their street performance of "Bar Bar Bar" followed by the various parody videos made by fans, according to the Korean publication Osen.

"Bar Bar Bar," which is best recognized when accompanied with the famous "engine dance," wasn't expected to be such a huge success, according to Crayon Pop.

"In the beginning, we weren't sure [about our popularity] because we would go straight to practice after our daily schedule," lead dancer Ellin told Billboard.

She added, "We found out about our growing popularity when people started telling us 'You guys are really popular!' That's when it started really hitting us. We can also tell by the amount of video covers coming up on the Internet lately."

The girls of Crayon Pop recently attended an event held by fans in order to celebrate the second year since their debut in the K-pop scene. Crayon Pop's official fan club created a collection of videos for the group and in turn, the members distributed autographed CDs, bromides and a few other special gifts, according to Yahoo Entertainment Singapore.

As their success continues to grow, the five-member female group announced that they would be making a comeback with their first full-length album in September, according to the Korea Herald.

"The members are currently in the process of recording and practicing the new choreography," stated a representative from their agency, Chrome Entertainment
