Hyoyoung, being the older of the two twins, has a history of winning the '2010 Miss Chunyang Beauty Contest'. Hwayoung commented, "After seeing my sister win first in the contest, I got to be on a TV broadcast with her. The owner of our current agency saw us and casted both of us."

On the topic of her joining T-ARA, Hwayoung shared, "My sister initially told our boss that she thought I fit in better with T-ARA. She offered to be in the new group. In my honest opinion I think my sister allowed me to be in T-ARA because she already had the title as Miss Chunyang. She was watching out for me."

Both of the sisters were seen on this episode sharing their struggles in the entertainment industry. They shared that it is comforting to have one another in the music industry.
