MTV's "Finding Carter" season 2 premiere date has not been announced yet but is something followers of the show have been highly anticipating. Many are excited about what's to come especially as reports claim that season 2 might be Elizabeth-heavy.

According to a report on MTV, while the "Finding Carter" season 2 premiere date has not been finalized yet, the show is absolutely returning for another run.

"The creative minds behind 'Finding Carter' did an exceptional job bringing this story to life and drawing our audience in," said Susanne Daniels, MTV President for Programming. "I'm looking forward to another season following Carter on her journey."

As fans eagerly await the announcement of "Finding Carter"'s season 2 premiere date, a little peek at what's coming ahead could make the waiting more fun.

In an interview with Bustle, Cynthia Watros, who plays Elizabeth in the series spoke about how the second season might reveal more of her character's back story.

"I think he remainder of this season is really going to be about a lot going on," Watros said. "I don't know how much you're going to see of before and Elizabeth's backstory."

"I think it'd be next season where we'd find out the whole backstory about David and Elizabeth and what happened to them in their lives, maybe before the kidnapping or during those years," she added.

"Finding Carter" tells the story of Carter Stevens, a teenage girl who had been abducted as a child and had recently been reunited with her biological family.

According to MTV, apart from its success as being viewed widely in cable channels, "Finding Carter" also has a huge following online, with more than five million views on MTV.com and the MTV app.

"Finding Carter" stars Kathryn Prescott, Cynthia Watros, Alexis Denisof and Anna Jacoby-Heron. The show's first season finale will air on September 16.
