Henry Lau Wins Top Three Awards In Hong Kong

Singer Henry Lau is the next idol member to successfully fly solo.

The Super Junior-M member received the triple-crown award at the "Metro Radio Mandarin Hit Music Awards 2014" ceremony, according to the Korean publication Naver.

The talented Chinese-Canadian singer, who is currently promoting his second solo album "Fantastic," made an appearance at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center, where the awards ceremony was being held. Henry won the "Most Popular Idol Member" award, "Best Male Dance Artist" award and the "Song of the Year" award at the ceremony, which was held on August 26.

"Thank you so much for honoring me with this incredible award. Thank you to all my fans here in Hong Kong. I hope to meet with you guys more frequently. Once again, thank you everyone," stated Henry at the awards ceremony.

The "Metro Radio Mandarin Hit Music Awards" began back in 2002 and has since opened annually. The ceremony, which is hosted by Metro Radio, recognizes the projects of popular artists that have contributed noteworthy work to the Chinese entertainment industry.

Henry has been making the rounds doing interviews with media outlets, including MOOV, Yahoo and Sina in Hong Kong. The K-pop star is set to make an appearance on the popular music program "Jade Solid Gold Record" as well as other radio programs.

Henry was recently featured on a Billboard article for perfectly "mixing traditional musical elements, like string sections and simple piano chords, with modern-day dance tracks."

"The 24-year-old star was able to show off his real-life violin skills in his new single. Peppy strings back Henry's crooning on the verses before his skills control spotlight on the violin-only pre-chorus that changes on each verse. While the violin may not be the sexiest instrument in the world, Henry makes a good case for its coolness by dancing while in the accompanying video," wrote the music outlet regarding Henry's latest hit "Fantastic."
