Britney Spears is officially single! The singer and former "X Factor" judge reportedly split from her boyfriend of 18 months, David Lucado, the break up the result of an alleged cheating scandal.  

It seems, however, that Ms. Spears' ex really wants her back.

According to Perezhilton.com, Spears discovered that Lucado had been unfaithful when she found of video of him making out with another woman.

The video in question supposedly shows Lucado locking lips and dancing with a woman who isn't Spears in what appears to be a living room.

TMZ reports that a rep for Lucado issued a statement on the rumored break up.

"David is very, very in love with Britney. This is unfortunate and he hopes that it all works out."

But Spears appears to be singing another tune. She seemingly confirmed the split on Twitter when she wrote:

The couple began seeing each other two months after the "Work B**ch" singer ended her engagement with Jason Trawick. Spears and Trawick were in a relationship for almost three years.

Perezhilton.com reports that a rep for Spears also confirmed her break up with Lucado.

"Yes, she's single," affirmed the rep.

The "Womanizer" songstress recently posted a video to Facebook of Locado taking the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Spears, who nominated her ex, appears to be holding the camera as Locado is doused with ice water from a friend on a moving ATV. Locado can be seen wearing a Virginia Tech shirt, gear for a team who Spears has frequently been photographed supporting since the couple began dating in 2012.

Chances are there will be a lot of VT Hokie sweatshirts in Spears' trash can tonight.

The pop princess will certainly be keeping busy despite the split, however. She is set to launch her new lingerie line, "The Intimate Britney Spears" on Sept. 9 and is currently performing her show "Piece of Me" at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
