Amanda Knox Murder Case: US Media Brushes Off News On ‘Foxy Knoxy’s’ Link With Drug Dealer? Meredith Kercher’s Roommate’s Innocence Product Of Good PR?

Amanda Knox murder case updates in relation to her appeal are rare these days but one PR practitioner pointed out the massive campaign to relay to the US media that the student is a girl-next-door type incapable of killing Meredith Kercher.

Selene Nelson, who describes herself as a content executive and freelance writer, wrote for HuffingtonPost that the family of Amanda Knox was very smart to hire the Gogerty Marriott Public Relations Inc. to airbrush the convicted murder's image in the media.

For example, she said that her connection to the Perugian cocaine ring, which came up as the new development after the Amanda murder case trial, was never widely reported in the US mainstream media.

"Considerable time, effort and money has gone into portraying Knox as a wholesome girl-next-door and Sollecito, a shy, well-behaved doctor's son," she said. "Stories that threaten to shatter these carefully constructed PR images are just brushed under the carpet."

The Italian newspaper Giallo reported updates on the Amanda Knox murder case when it unearthed a police report on January 19, 2008 which said that "during the course of the investigation into the

Meredith Kercher, we have confirmed that a person whose initial is 'F' would occasionally supply drugs to Amanda Knox."

The report also alleged that Amanda Knox was sleeping with her dealer. Although the newspaper has not disclosed the name of the cocaine dealers, it confirmed that it "knows them."

Meanwhile, lawyer Theodore Simon, who got involved in the Amanda Knox murder case trial in 2009 when she was initially convicted, told the Philly Mag  that he still believes in the student's innocence. The attorney was instrumental in getting her conviction overturned during the appellate trial.

"There's only one thing that is consistent about this particular case: There's a compelling and profound absence of evidence. It's a nightmare that should end, and it's completely and wholly unjust," he said.
