'The Blacklist’ Signs With Netflix For $2 Million Per Episode: Streaming Site Pays Largest Amount Ever For Show

Catching up on missed episodes of the "The Blacklist" will now be easier than ever. The hit NBC show has reportedly inked a deal to stream on Netflix.

And the agreement marks the highest amount the streaming website has paid to take on a series.

"The Blacklist," a drama that stars James Spader as Raymond "Red" Reddington as a former government agent-turned fugitive and Megan Boone as newbie FBI Special Agent Elizabeth Keen, reportedly cost Netflix $2 million per episode, according to Deadline Hollywood.

Sony TV, which produces the series, has reportedly an early supporter of Netflix. The company made one of the first streaming deals with Netflix, signing on for the site to stream AMC's "Breaking Bad," which quickly became a popular show for fans to watch in large doses.

Prior to this deal, Netflix's biggest purchases were AMC's "The Walking Dead," which sold for $1.35 million per episode and Fox's "New Girl," which reportedly cost $900,000 per episode.

Season one of "The Blacklist" will be available for viewers to binge watch starting next weekend.

E! News reports that the James Spader show premiered to 12.5 million viewers last year and brought in an average of 10.5 million viewers.

The new season of "The Blacklist" will return for it's new season to NBC on September 22 at 10 p.m. as part of the network's new Thursday lineup.

Meanwhile, the creator of  "The Blacklist" is gearing up to launch another show this Fall, the drama "State of Affairs," starring Katherine Heigl.

In the "Gray's Anatomy" actress's return to television, she stars as Charlie Tucker, a CIA officer who is forced to become the President's daily briefer.

The series is set to air on November 17 on NBC.
