KARA Returns To K-Pop Glory With ‘Mamma Mia’ Release

Girl group KARA has successfully wrapped promotions for their single "Mamma Mia" in Japan.

The four members of the popular K-pop group headed to Japan on August 27, the day "Mamma Mia" was released and made appearances on various Japanese media outlets, including Oricon Style, NHK, BS Asia and more, according to the Korean publication Osen.

They were also seen performing their single on Nihon TV's Sootkili.

Their recent overseas venture is the first since the group has become a full four-member team again after former KARA girls Nicole and Jiyoung made the decision to leave earlier this year, according to the website sbs.com.

Nicole had explained her decision to leave during that time, stating, "Truthfully, many things happened while I was with the members for 7-8 years.  Occasionally, it was hard, but I endured and did many things.  All of us equally had a hard time physically and emotionally, but I am so grateful that we always lent our strength to each other.  What each of us does has changed a bit, but let's continue to encourage one another to succeed."

KARA, which now includes members Park Gyu Ri, Hang Seong Yeon, Gu Ha Ra and Heo Youngji, has returned stronger than ever with the release of their sixth mini-album "Day & Night."

The girls have now returned to continuing promotions in Korea, winning this week's episode of the Korean music program "Show Champion," according to Allkpop.

As difficult as it was to get back to becoming the KARA that their fans love and support, the members are most definitely getting recognized for all of their hard work.

"First place on 'Show Champion'. .  . Thank you! I feel it's a shame and am sorry we were not able to show a solid performance because it was slippery from the rain and because of the breeze. . . We will continue to do our best!," tweeted member Gyuri.
