Nicole Kidman: Tom Cruise Divorce Hell. Actress Opens Up In The Edit Magazine

Nicole Kidman just did an editorial spread and interview for The Edit magazine, and in it, she opens up about very public divorce from Tom Cruise in 2001, calling the experience "hell." The movie star, who is now happily married to Country singer Keith Urban, has always remained pretty tight lipped about her past heart break, at the time she maintained a stoically brave face. This is one of the first time she's shown the public a more vulnerable side, giving the public a peak into the devastation she really felt.

In the interview, Kindman recalls being in the audience at her husband's concert on their anniversary this year, when the singer stopped and dedicated a song to her. The actress says, "I had two girlfriends sitting with me at the time, and they were like 'bitch!' " to which she responded "Hey, I've been to hell and back!" In reference to the messy divorce.

Kidman and Cruise never commented publicly on why they divorced. At the time, it was widely believed to have been because the actress rejected Scientology, the religion Cruise has devoted himself to. Kidman has pledged to never speak publicly about the church because her two children with Cruise, Isabella and Connor, are members. She has only ever said on the subject, "I utterly respect their beliefs."

Fortunately, the star reports she is very happy these days in her marriage to Urban. In the interview she reveals, "Keith always says, 'We're lucky we met late in life. The sadness of that is we can't have six kids together, but the greatness of that is (we are done) with all the other stuff, so now we are totally present for this.' That's a great thing to hear from a man." The couple does have two daughters together, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
