NBA Trade Rumors: Ray Allen To Clippers The Reason For Jared Dudley Trade? All-Time Best Shooter Not Accepting Minimum Salary! Doc Rivers To Reunite With Former Celtic Hitman!

The NBA Trade Rumors just confirmed that Jared Dudley was traded by the Clippers for Carlos Delfino and Miroslav Raduljica. They were already waived after three days, and the main reason is that they want more cap space-so they could chase Ray Allen.

Allen is now the NBA's All-Time Best Three point shooter and the Clippers, specifically coach Doc Rivers know that 'Jesus Shuttlesworth' can be the savior of a team in clutch situations. Being in the competitive Western Conference with the San Antonio Spurs and OKC Thunder, Rivers knows they'll have many of that.

ESPN's Arash Markazi had these tweets confirming the Clippers' intentions(re-posted by NBC Sports):

"The Clippers have 11 players under contract, two under the league minimum. They will be bringing in veterans for workouts.

Doc Rivers had been in contact with Ray Allen earlier this summer. Expect the Clippers to make a run at him again."

Will Ray Allen choose to reunite with his coach from Boston, with whom he won his first NBA title in 2008 as part of the Celtics Big Three? Allen already mentioned that he wants to play with a contender and that was the reason why he ruled out a return to the Miami Heat.

But the Clippers are not the only contenders for Ray Allen. The Cleveland Cavaliers led by Allen's teammate LeBron James, are also expressing interest.

Allen is not in a hurry, and he does not feel any pressure to make a decision. He did state that he is not going to take the veterans' minimum salary just to join a contender, and this might have prompted the Clippers to pull the trigger on the Jared Dudley. This will allow them to offer about $ 3 million for the services of the 39 year-old.

Will Ray Allen choose his bond with former coach Doc Rivers, or will he follow LeBron James as many of his Miami compatriots have? Maybe he chooses to retire?
