Hilary Duff Comeback Album Delayed; Hillary Duff Signs With RCA and Releases Single ‘Chasing the Sun’

Hilary Duff is delaying her comeback album. Duff recently announced that her first album in seven years was going to hit the shelves on October 14.

Duff gave no explanation for the delay. The former Disney star took to Twitter to post an apologetic statement, saying "Guys, hate to break this news but the album won't be out in October... You will have to wait a few more months. Love all the excitement tho."

Hillary Duff recently signed a recording deal with RCA Records, the same label that her former Disney labelmate Miley Cyrus signed to.

Duff said "I couldn't be more excited to join the RCA family. I love my team there and feel so lucky to be in the company of their talented artists. I came to them with my vision for the album and it has been a real labor of love, but something I am so proud of. 'Chasing the Sun' is just a peek into my new album. I've worked very hard, and the album is a great representation of the experiences I've had in my life and where I want to go from here!"

Hilary Duff's new single, "Chasing the Sun" was released on July 29.

Duff hasn't had a new record since 2007's "Dignity." Her first single "Chasing the Sun" was written by Colbie Caillat, Jason Reeves and Toby Gad, who also produced.

Duff recently spoke to Billboard about her new music, saying "The album is very positive. It's very up, but it does talk about... there's a song called 'If I Fall,' which is about me taking a step back and kind of shutting down my whole business, and everyone not believing in me and me being really scared to be alone after I'd been surrounded by 100 people for five years of my life."

"[There's] a song about my separation and my love for this person that maybe we're not meant to be together, or maybe we are," she continued. "I mean, it's very, very personal, but I would say that it has a happy spirit to it, which is me."
