Rory McIlroy Falters As Caroline Wozniacki Dominates US Open 2014: Danish Player Allegedly Flirts With John Isner, Will Face Maria Sharapova In US Open 2014 4th Round

Rory McIlroy and Caroline Wozniacki are both on American soil competing in their respective sports. Despite his claims that his single life helped his career, Rory McIlroy faltered in the Deutsche Bank Championship as his ex-fiancée powered on ahead into the 4th round of the US Open 2014. To rub in her success a little more, she allegedly flirted with John Isner. Will the Irish golfer’s stumble inspire Caroline Wozniacki to defeat Maria Sharapova?

“Every match I’ve been playing better and better,” Caroline Wozniacki admitted after her 3rd round game against Andrea Petkovic, “And I served really well today.”

The world number 10 finished up her match in two sets, 6-3, 6-2.

The Danish star captioned the picture, “Loved every minute of it out there on Grand Stand today! Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting me! On to the next round! #USOpen”.

According to the previous article, Rory McIlroy claimed that breaking up with his former girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki was the best thing he did for his career.

“I think it has happened to me for the better,” McIlroy admitted in the interview with PGA Championship, “I’ve put a little bit more time into my golf and refocused me in a way. It’s the only thing ‑‑ not the only thing I have; I’ve got my family and my friends, but I just immersed myself in my game. I’ve practiced hard and I’ve done all the right things, and I’m reaping the rewards.”

Well, the Irish golfer may as well eat his words now after faltering at the Deutsche Bank Championship. According to CBSSports, “McIlroy bogeyed three of his last five holes” and “was in just 17th place at the time he finished”.

To rub her success in just a little bit more, Caroline Wozniacki showed support for the American John Isner on her Instagram. Was she trying to flirt with him?

She wrote on her Instagram, “Bruno is cheering on @johnrisner to win tonight!!” Bruno is her much cherished pup.

But she shouldn’t start her celebrations just yet. She will face Roland Garros champion Maria Sharapova in the 4th round of the US Open 2014.

Maria Sharapova has had a few hurdles in the tournament so far, but it looks like she is ready to take home the US Open championship title this year.

Do you think Caroline will be able to repeat her 2009 performance this year?
