Eru Continues To Spread ‘Hallyu Wave’ In Indonesia

Singer Eru is officially spreading the Korean wave in Indonesia.

The K-pop sensation was recently cast as the star of the upcoming Indonesian program titled "Bioscop Indonesia Premiere," according to the Korean publication Biz Herald Corp.

Eru has been making headlines in Indonesia for his involvement in two parts of the show, including segments titled "Second Chance" and "I Love You Eru." The actor will be starring alongside famous Indonesian actresses Kimberly Rider and Natasha Lizkey in the upcoming project and is set to begin filming in early September.

"It's incredible that Eru has already been cast in two segments for the program. The fact that one of them is called 'I Love You Eru' is impressive as well. This just shows how popular Eru is here in Indonesia," stated an associate for the Indonesian television network.

"Bioscop Indonesia Premiere" debuted through the TRANS TV network back in 2008 and has been known as the channel's longest running program. It has gained quite a bit of attention amongst local fans due to the amount of celebrity appearances throughout its run.

Eru made his big entrance in the industry in Indonesia back in 2012 with his role in the Indonesian movie "Hello Goodbye" as well as his song "Black Glasses." The singer and actor was the first Korean singer to perform on eight different Indonesian music programs.

The 31-year-old began his career back in 2005 in Korea, gaining immense popularity with his first album "Begin to Breathe." He was featured on the soundtracks of seven soundtracks from popular Korean dramas as well.

The "Don't Hurt" hitmaker won various awards during his career in Korea, even winning an award for his music at the Seoul Music Awards back in 2008.

Although Eru hasn't been very active in the Korean entertainment industry as of late, the singer has continued to become a household name in the Indonesian entertainment industry due to his deep understanding of his audience and his music.

"Indonesians love ballads and because of his previous hit 'Black Glasses,' his career over there is really taking off," stated a spokesperson for his agency back in 2012, according to MSN Entertainment XIN.
