Linday Lohan Avoids Trial for PCH Car Crash: Star Settles Out Of Court 2 Years After Hitting Semi-Truck

Lindsay Lohan has laid one bad memory to rest. The actress just reached a settlement after her car accident with a semi-truck on the Pacific Coast Highway two years ago.

According to TMZ, Lohan crashed her rented Porsche 911S into a semi-truck in 2012 and originally claimed that her assistant had been driving. The star was rumored to be on the way to the set of her film "Liz & Dick" when the accident occurred.

Although no one was seriously injured in the collision, the Daily Mail reports that the accident caused $80,000 worth of damage.

Lohan was initially charged with crimes, according to Fox News, including giving false information to a police officer, obstructing or resisting an officer in the performance of his duty, and reckless driving.

The truck driver, whose name was once listed by the media as James Johnson, reportedly sued Lohan for mental and physical suffering after the car crash but accepted a settlement out of court for an undisclosed amount.

Lohan will not be forced to pay out of pocket for the car crash, however, as her insurance company is expected to take the entire financial burden.

At the time of the accident, TMZ reported that witnesses claimed there were pills scattered in the trunk of Lohan's car. The publication also alleged that the police officers on the scene of the accident smelled alcohol in Lohan's car.

Lohan, who has had several run-ins with the law in the past, recently filed her own lawsuit against the makers of "Grand Theft Auto V," claiming that the video game creators used her likeness without her permission "for publicity purposes."

Aside from the video game lawsuit, Lohan will now be able to focus on her upcoming London theatre debut in David Mamet's "Speed-The-Plow" on the West End.

The actress recently admitted to the Daily Mail that her exciting new gig has made her jittery.

"I think it's just the idea of when it starts, on opening night, that's what makes me the most nervous," Lohan said in reference to the play. "I'll probably mess up on the first night just out of fear."
