Boy group FTISLAND member Lee Hongki's hit drama series "Hundred Year Bride" is getting more popular day by day.

"Hundred Year Bride" used to air during the prime weekend hours on TV Chosun in Korea, but after the series finished airing in April, the drama was picked up by the Japanese network TBS starting August 1, according to the Korean publication Naver.

The popular series was aired five months after five major Japanese networks reportedly decided to stop airing Korean dramas. The popularity of "Hundred Year Bride" hasn't only opened the door for Korean television shows once again, but has also further paved the way for FTISLANDS's lead vocal Lee Hongki to prove himself as an actor to Japanese fans.

Local fans in Japan are getting a chance to experience Lee Hongki outside of his band, as "Hundred Year Bride" has now become so popular that DVD sales of the drama have risen as well. The series is also seen topping the Korean Drama DVD sales charts for Amazon Japan.

Although we all know that Lee Hongki is a phenomenal actor, the idol member is still all about his music. Lee will be attending the Japanese rock festival "Inazume Rock Festival 2014" on September 14 to perform with FTISLAND.

Lee Hongki will be releasing a new Japanese single titled "To The Light" with his fellow bandmates this fall as well, according to the publication Yahoo Entertainment Singapore.

"FTISLAND members, Choi Jong Hoon, Lee Hongki, Lee Jae Jin, Choi Min Hwan, Song Seung Hyun, will be releasing their new Japanese single on October 15," stated a representative from the band's management agency FNC Entertainment.

FTISLAND has flourished since their debut and have gained more recognition within the K-pop world now that they understand their music and each other much better.

"Our range of music - what we can see and hear - is expanding. As a band, we've reached our comfort level. We are used to each other's habits when we perform together," Lee Hongki told The Korea Times.
