Kim Hyun Joong Reportedly Admits To Hitting Former Girlfriend

After being accused of hitting his former girlfriend, K-pop idol Kim Hyun Joong has finally reportedly spoken out on the matter.

On September 2, the 28-year-old arrived at the Songpa police station and underwent four hours of questioning. According to allkpop, the SS501 leader has admitted to hitting the accuser, but only once.

"Although it is true that my emotions got the best of me during a fight with words and I hit her once, the rest of [the accusations] are false," said Kim Hyun Joong.

"I'm sorry. I will faithfully carry out the investigation."

"Kim Hyun Joong admitted to one assault among the four that he has been accused of, he denied the rest," said the police reportedly to the Korean media. "As for the rib fracture, he said that they didn't even realize it at the time and that it happened when they were just joking around."

"As much as the statements of the accuser and accused conflict, we plan to bring in [the accuser] again for further investigation if necessary."

The recent statement had garnered a lot of negative reactions, including some who had supported the singer even after the story initially made headlines.

"Some of you think she provoked him," commented desilipstick on allkpop. "Sorry, that is not a valid excuse. We have all been provoked and have not acted, so that excuse is not valid for him or anyone."

"You don't fracture a rib and not realize it."

"You are all ridiculous for saying it's justified since she 'possibly' hit him," wrote gabimwj on September 3. "First off, violence in any relationship is not valid, no matter the excuse. If she slapped him, so be it. Does it mean she should be able to hit her back? No. There are other means he could have stopped the violence."
